Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Production Colours

Series 1 Colours   Code Name Paint Formula and Description
AR2 Active Red
HOW TO MAKE ACTIVE RED (AR2)

Glasurit 22 Line 2K 1L Formula:

22-M0: 197.8g
22-M326: 434.0g
22-A346: 205.9g
22-M6: 157.6g
22-M60: 42.6g
22-M43: 16.4g

AR2, the colour code for Active Red, is a very nice red that is both bright and deep in various lighting conditions! Making this colour in Glasurit paint requires 3 different reds just to achieve this unique paint! Lots of brilliant bright red is needed to start of the colour, followed by a burgundy red to help darken and deepen the colour. A red brown follows up afterwards to darken up and dirty up AR2, finishing up with some high strength white to slightly lighten the red and then some yellow/orange to give it a more orange tone. Thanks to the red brown tint darkening up the colour, black is not needed in this mix, which helps preserve the brightness and depth that makes Active Red stand out in a crowd!

EV1 Lightning Yellow
HOW TO MAKE LIGHTNING YELLOW (EV1)

Glasurit 22 Line 2K 1L Formula:

White undercoat required to achieve the correct colour. Incorrect undercoat will result in poor paint coverage and an inaccurate colour match

22-M0: 200.1g
22-M146: 581.7g
22-M60: 273.9g
22-M5: 144.9g
22-M43: 38.1g
22-A126: 26.0g

EV1, the colour code for Lightning Yellow, is one R34 colour that is instantly recognisable for its intense yellow colour! Making this colour in Glasurit 2 Pack (2K) requires lots of Lemon Yellow, the brightest yellow possible to make the colour really pop! Adding in high strength white will lighten up the lemon yellow and help increase paint coverage. Ochre is added to darken/dirty up the colour, which is then offset by some yellow/orange tint to give EV1 its more iconic look. Finally, some tinting black is added in to slightly darken and dirty up the colour once more. You may wonder, why does it need so much white and dirty tints? Without those additions, it would cost way more to paint onto the vehicle due to yellow pigments being the most transparent colour pigments around, and it also wouldn’t make the iconic EV1 Lightning Yellow everyone knows and loves today! Author’s Note: This yellow is a personal favourite of mine!

GV1 Black Pearl
HOW TO MAKE BLACK PEARL (GV1)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

352-91: 173.7g
55-M505: 4.7g
55-M010: 3.3g
11-E330: 1.2g
55-A929: 438.1g
55-A974: 239.9g
55-M1: 33.0g
55-M177: 19.7g
55-M0: 3.8g

GV1, the colour code for Black Pearl, is a nice black colour with hints of a few pearls to make the colour look even better than any ordinary black! Achieving this in Glasurit paint requires lots of deep black and blue black to start the black base, with a dash of organic yellow to give the colour a more yellow tone. Then all that’s needed is tiny amounts of blue pearl, white pearl and red pearl to give GV1 that multi colour sparkle! Can’t forget a dash of M0 mixing clear to help hold the pearls together and some M1 to make the pearls a lot more noticeable in the sunlight! No silvers in the colour allows for the pearl effect to be a lot more subtle on various angles! There’s 3+ different variations of GV1 out of the OEM factory compared to the Standard version. To find out exactly which one yours is, visit your local paint shop that specialises with spectrophotometer technology!

KR4 Sonic Silver
HOW TO MAKE SONIC SILVER (KR4)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

352-91: 173.8g
55-M99/10: 336.9g
55-M99/19: 257.0g
55-A929: 75.4g
55-A974: 41.3g
55-M1: 18.3g
55-A548: 9.7g
55-A423: 6.4g

KR4, the colour code for Sonic Silver, is just one out of the two silvers available with the 1st series of the R34s. Making this in Glasurit paint requires a lot of fine aluminium silver and rounded aluminium silver to brighten up the colour when the sunlight hits the colour. Adding in some jet black and blue black helps to both darken and dirty up the silver, with some final touches of transparent greenish blue and violet blue to give the silver a more bluish tone. All of that, plus some M1 additive to brighten up the silver flakes, makes the Sonic Silver we all know today! There exists 3+ variations of KR4 out of the OEM factory compared to the Standard version. If you want to know exactly which version yours is, visit your local paint shop that specialises with spectrophotometer technology!

KV2 Athlete Silver
HOW TO MAKE ATHLETE SILVER (KV2)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

352-91: 174.1g
55-M99/19: 343.6g
55-M99/10: 187.2g
55-A929: 94.9g
55-A974: 53.6g
55-A423: 33.0g
55-M1: 21.9g
55-A556: 12.8g

KV2, the colour code for Athlete Silver, is the second silver of the 1st series R34s and the first of the 2nd series R34s. Making this in Glasurit paint requires lots of rounded aluminium silver to give it a bright look and some fine aluminium to give the colour a bit more of a finer appearance. A lot of jet black and blue black helps darken up and dirty up the colour, along with some bluish violet to give the colour a bit of a purple tone. Adding in some M1 gives the colour some extra pop and little bit of strong greenish blue for a bit of extra green tone. All of that combined makes Athlete Silver! Compared to Sonic Silver, KV2 is a lot more shinier in the sun, but also darker when viewed at different angles, and the colour has a more purplish tone overall. Athlete Silver is quite the eye striking and very recognisable colour on both Series 1 and Series 2 models of the R34!

  LV4 Midnight Purple II
HOW TO MAKE Midnight Purple II (LV4)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

352-91: 174.0
11-LE545: 94.5g
11-E650: 4.5g
55-M0: 296.7g
55-A929: 134.9g
55-A974: 114.0g
55-M1: 74.9g
55-A353: 30.1g

LV4, the colour code for Midnight Purple II, is a beautiful colour shifting purple that was first produced before the rarer MP3. Midnight Purple II contains colour shifting properties, allowing it to change from purple to blue to an orange-red on certain angles, with the blue/purple combo being more visible on multiple angles. Achieving this in Glasurit paint requires 11-LE545, giving the paint the more pronounced cyan blue tone chameleon pearl. A dash of 11-E650 helps increase greenish red pearls throughout the colour. And most importantly, 55-M1 Flip Control is needed to both enhance the cyan blue pearl look and adjust the colour flip angles to make the colour truly Midnight Purple II!

  LX0 Midnight Purple III
HOW TO MAKE Midnight Purple III (LX0)

Dark Grey undercoat required for best results

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

352-91: 173.6g
11-LE535: 158.2g
55-M010: 12.0g
55-M0: 474.5
55-A929: 60.2g
55-A556: 27.1g
55-A974: 21.1g

LX0, the colour code for Midnight Purple III, is a widely recognised purple colour due to it's colour shifting properties. This is achieved in Glasurit paint by the 11-LE535 chameleon pearl that is used, allowing the colour to flip from blue to orange to purple when looking at the colour from various angles! A small amount of 55-M010 creates a more coarser pearl, and three other tints are used for colour control. And most importantly, 55-M0, the clear mixing base, along with the 352-91 reducer, helps hold the pigments together to create the rare Midnight Purple III!

QM1 White
HOW TO MAKE WHITE (QM1)

Glasurit 22 Line 2K 1L Formula:

22-M0: 196.5g
22-M60: 1008.9g
22-A126: 41.9g
22-A105: 25.2g
22-A131: 8.3g

QM1, the colour code for White used on various R34 models, may seem like just ordinary white, but it’s different in its own way to make contrast very differently when compared to a different solid white on a different vehicle! Making this in Glasurit 2 Pack (2K) paint for a solid, durable and accurate finish requires lots of high strength white and some tinting black to give the colour a darker and slight dirty appearance. It also needs some tinting ochre to give it a more yellow look and some tinting blue for some colour control. Most importantly, clear mixing binder is needed to hold all of that together to make the beautiful QM1 white! There are 7+ variations of this colour from the OEM factory compared to the standard version, so every R34 model production line will differ slightly. If you want to know exactly which version of QM1 is yours, take it to a local paint shop that specialises with spectrophotometer technology!

TV2 Bayside Blue
HOW TO MAKE BAYSIDE BLUE (TV2)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

352-91: 173.9g
55-M99/19: 75.9g
55-M99/10: 75.8g
55-M506: 63.8g
55-A589: 445.8g
55-A423: 41.4g
55-M1: 31.9g
55-A352: 7.1g

TV2, the colour code for Bayside Blue, is a very iconic colour for the R34 and is one of the most widely recognisable! Making this in Glasurit paint requires an almost equal amount of rounded aluminium silver and medium fine aluminium silver, giving just the right brightness and coarseness. The base of the actual blue colour requires a lot of a blue that has both a red blue flip and a slight green blue flip! Add in some violet to give it a purplish tone, a dark red for some colour control and lastly, but not least, a fine blue pearl and some M1 effect additive to truly make the colour pop in the sun! Without all those mixed together, it gives you the Bayside Blue that is gorgeous in both the sunlight and in the dark! This colour has a “Red” variation out of the OEM factory compared to the Standard version. To find out which version of TV2 yours is, visit a local paint shop that specialises with spectrophotometer technology!

  EY0 Silica Brass
HOW TO MAKE SILICA BRASS (EY0)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

352-91: 174.5g
55-M99/19: 487.6
55-M99/22: 137.7g
11-E330: 11.3g
55-A929: 48.4g

55-M177: 19.6g
55-A353: 13.8g
55-A143: 6.7g
55-M1: 6.3g

EY0, the colour code for Silica Brass, (also known as the incorrectly translated name of Silica Breath) is a nice light goldish metallic with a surprise flash red pearl throughout it! It’s subtle, but it’s definitely there! Making this colour in Glasurit paint requires a lot of rounded aluminium silver for a nice bright shine in the sun, but also plenty of a bright aluminium silver that’s a touch coarser for a nice sparkle in the sun! Only a small amount of the flash red pearl is needed for a subtle pearl effect, combine with some M1 effect additive to make it slightly more visible in the sun! Both a jet black and blue black are needed for a slightly darker tone and a much dirtier look, with an addition of a magenta to clean it up a little and redden it slightly. And you can’t forget both a yellow orange tint and organic yellow tint to finally bring the colour to the sleek light gold it appears to be! There are 2+ variations of the colour out of the OEM factory compared to the Standard version. If you want to know exactly which version of EY0 yours is, visit a local paint shop that specialises with spectrophotometer technology!

55-A640: 18.4g
55-A136: 15.7g
55-A125: 1.4g

JW0, the colour code for Millennium Jade, is a colour that many people will point towards the R34. It’s a very recognisable colour made only for the Nür R34 models! Millennium Jade is a nice greenish yellow metallic that in Glasurit Paint, has a lot of a medium fine aluminium silver and a small amount of rounded aluminium silver, making this a more finer metallic compared to a brighter metallic. Jet black helps give the colour its darker appearance, but is mainly helped by a transparent goldish red, followed up with a greenish blue. A blue green gives some support toward the green tone, which is then controlled by an iron yellow to give off a dark yellow gold tone. Finally, adding in just a tiny amount of white tint for slight lightening and milkiness gives JW0 its iconic look! There is a “Blue” variant of Millennium Jade out of the OEM factory compared to the Standard version.

QT1 Pearl White
HOW TO MAKE Pearl White (QT1)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent Base Layer 1L Formula:

352-91: 175.9g
55-M25: 764.0g
55-A307: 77.9g
55-A590: 21.5g
55-A927: 19.8g
55-A136: 18.6g

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent Pearl Layer 1L Formula:

352-91: 173.8g
55-M010: 61.4g
55-M0: 640.8g
55-M1: 25.8g

QT1, the colour code for Pearl White, is one colour that you will see on a lot of HR34s, ENR34s and ER34s, but you’ll never see on any GT-R BNR34 except for 1 S-Tune with a Sports Resetting package! But what makes it so different compared to QX1? The QT1 version of Pearl White has a much redder toned white base layer, using less white, a dark red oxide, slightly more of the reduced greenish blue but a lot less reduced black, and an iron yellow instead of an ochre, giving it a more yellower and darker appearance to QX1. Overall, the base white for QT1 leans closer to a red toned white base compared to the more yellow toned QX1 white base! The pearl layer for QT1 uses a small amount of a medium white pearl and lots of mixing clear binder for a more transparent pearl layer, whereas QX1 uses an approximately equal amount of diamond silver xirallic pearl and mixing clear binder to create a more opaque high sparkle pearl layer. QT1 is a lot cheaper to make compared to QX1, with the change of pearls used. In terms of value however, anyone interested in acquiring a GT-R BNR34 painted with QT1 will find that due to only 1 in that generation painted in QT1 out of the OEM factory, the value for that specific generation model is expected to be higher than normal!

  QX1 Pearl White
HOW TO MAKE PEARL WHITE (QX1)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent Base Layer 1L Formula:

352-91: 175.7g
55-M25: 816.3g
55-A927: 65.4g
55-A590: 17.4g
55-M105: 15.3g

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent Pearl Layer 1L Formula:

352-91: 174.1g
55-M919: 313.7g
55-M0: 354.2g
55-M1: 90.9g

QX1, the colour code for Pearl White, is a very coarse multi layer white pearl that looks very beautiful when the sunlight hits it! It is a very coarse pearl that will blow you away compared to a regular white colour! Making this in Glasurit paint requires 2 different layers. First, you need to make the white base layer, which requires heaps of high strength white and some reduced black tint to only darken and dirty the white very slightly. Too much black and the colour would be more of a grey, but not enough black and the white won’t cover an OEM panel very well, so reduced black is 100% necessary! Then some reduced greenish blue is needed for a bit of a bluey tint and most importantly, some yellow ochre for a touch of a yellow tone!

For the pearl layer, you need to use a lot of a very coarse diamond silver pearl that gives of a bright white sparkle effect at every angle! You also need lots of clear mixing binder to hold the pearl transparency layer together, along with some M1 effect additive to brighten up the pearl heaps directly in the sunlight! To apply the paint correctly, you need to apply the base layer first, and then the pearl layer over the top to give of that high sparkle QX1 pearl effect! There are over 12 variations of QX1 out of the OEM factory compared to the standard version! To find out which version of QX1 is yours exactly, visit a local paint shop that specialises with spectrophotometer technology!

TV2 Bayside Blue
HOW TO MAKE BAYSIDE BLUE (TV2)

WV2 Sparkling Silver
HOW TO MAKE SPARKLING SILVER (WV2)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

352-91: 174.5g
55-M99/19: 386.4g
55-M99/10: 75.1g
55-A929: 132.5g

55-A589: 25.0g
55-M1: 19.5g
55-A423: 10.2g
55-A097: 9.2g

WV2, the colour code for Sparkling Silver, is the second silver used for Series 2 R34s! To make Sparkling Silver in Glasurit paint, it needs a lot of rounded aluminium silver to make it look very bright in the sun, as the name of the colour implies! A small amount of fine aluminium silver helps give it a bit of a finer texture. And you can’t forget some jet black and blue black to both darken up the colour and dirty up the colour, which is a common usage in a lot of silver paints! Using some M1 additive will brighten up the silver sparkles, but that’s not all that’s needed to complete the colour. A fair amount of blue is needed to give the colour a blue tone, whilst some bluish violet helps push it slightly closer to a purplish tone! And finally, a tint that only this silver uses to make Sparkling Silver truly unique, a white additive with a frosty blue flip! This causes the colour to look more dirty and yellow in the sunlight, whilst on the side angle it produces a milky blue tone! Truly makes Sparkling Silver a one of a kind GT-R silver. There exists 5+ variations of WV2 out of the OEM factory compared to the Standard version. If you want to know exactly which version yours is, visit your local paint shop that specialises with spectrophotometer technology!

HOW TO MAKE Z-TUNE SILVER (KY0)

Glasurit 55 Line Solvent 1L Formula:

55-A929: 24.0g
55-M1: 9.2g
55-A589: 4.9g

KY0, the colour code for Z-Tune Silver, is a very recognisable silver in the GT-R world that goes by many different names in various regions, such as Platinum Metallic, Diamond Silver Metallic, Chrome Silver and many more! Although it is a widely used colour on many Nissan vehicles up to this very day, only 19 GT-R R34s were chosen to be transformed into Z-Tunes and painted with this very colour! There exists 19+ different variations of KY0 from OEM productions! The Standard version of KY0 in Glasurit paint requires a lot of medium rounded aluminium silver just as a base for the colour. Adding in some bright aluminium with a crystal like texture helps make the silver sparkle more in the sunlight, especially with the M1 Flip Control opening up the silver particles so that they shine as bright as possible in the sun! And lastly, can’t forget to add some jet black to darken the colour slightly and some blue tint to give the silver a bluish tinge to it! If you happen to have a Z-Tune and want to know what version of KY0 yours is, take it to a local paint shop that specialises with spectrophotometer technology!
